Behind the frame, a reflection
Behind the reflection, Inaya
Behind Inaya, The One
Who will hear these words?
In focus behind the frame, the reflection of the trees dancing in the wind
Completely surrendered to the laws of nature and glowing in the light.
So many of us are unaware of what lies behind the crumbs we are given to bite
So we stop at the reflection of what the body’s eyes have pinned.
Let us dare to enquire relentlessly about who is our True Mother
As Grace reveals what has always lied beyond the reflection.
In focus behind the reflection, I ran away throughout the world
Seeking thrills and beauty. I lost myself in the reflection, bathed in ephemeral joys.
She stayed put and anchored her feet in the land of cedars and of dangerous toys
Dreaming of becoming an unknown stranger in a faraway world.
A mirror between us reveals the reflection of one another.
We both looked within and found ourselves beyond the reflection. In focus behind Inaya, That which no word can describe, nor eyes can see
Ever present and lovingly holding space for those of us blinded by the reflection.
She murmurs the words of Rumi and sings praises to God with affection.
Like the trees, she surrendered to the unchanging life force and is forever free.
When will we recognize that within The One lie our sisters and our brothers?
Inspired and unapologetic, I write about what lies beyond the world of separation.
Behind the frame, a reflection
Behind the reflection, Inaya
Behind Inaya, The One
Who recognizes the I Am?
*In loving memory of Inaya Jaber
